In particular, those without Al are called silicalite-1 and exhibit high hydrophobicity. - The pore diameter is slightly larger than that of a benzene ring, and it is known to show unique selectivity in catalytic reactions of aromatic hydrocarbons. - ZSM-5 is widely used as a catalyst for petrochemical products and is also utilized as a hydrophobic adsorbent. Additionally, it is a promising material for catalysts used in automotive exhaust purification. - By miniaturizing ZSM-5, improvements in reactivity, selectivity, and adsorption speed as an adsorbent can be expected.
